Fundamental duties part iv (A)
Added by 42nd ammendment act of 1976 on the basis of SWARAN SINGH committee report. The swaran singh committee suggested the eight fundamental duties ,the 42nd ammendment act included ten duties .
note: currently there are eleven fundamental duties
These duties are under article 51a and are as follows:
- To abide thre constitution and respect its ideals and institutions , national flage and national anthem .
- To cherish and fallow the noble ideals which inspired our national struggle for freedom
- TO uphold and protect the sovereignty , unity and integrity of india.
- TO defend the country and render national service when called upon to do so.
- To promote harmoney and the sprit of common brotherhood, amongst all people of india. Reduce religious ,linguistic and regional or sectional diversities; To renounce practice derogatory to the dignity of women.
- To value and preserve the rich haritage of our composite culture.
- To protect and improve the national environment , including forests,lakes,rivers and wildlife: To have compassion for living creatures.
- To develop scientific temper ,Humanism and the sprit of enquiry and reform.
10. To strive towards excellence in all spheres of individual and collective activity so that the nation constantly rises the higher levels of endeavor adn achivement.
11. It shall be duty of every citizen of india who is a parent or guardian to opportunist for education to his child or as the case may be ,between the age group of 6 to 14 years of age
the last duty was added by the 86th ammendment act of 2002
one should remember that the fundamental duties are non justifiable in nature.
Although these are non justifiable we should have special faith towards the duties and always try to fulfill all the duties .
